Early this morning, I received a WeChat message from a famous education critic, saying that he accidentally saw a famous quote that was quite enlightening and shared it with me, but according to my speculation based on his WeChat content, he should have sent all his friends in a group, and he should want to investigate everyone's recognition of this famous saying, and if they agree with this famous quote, how do they plan to choose, and this famous quote about Victor Frankl's "The Meaning of Living" should be familiar to many people. The famous quote goes like this:
"There is one thing you cannot take away from the hands of man, and that is the most precious freedom.People have always had the freedom to choose their own attitudes and ways of behaving in any environment.”
In the evening, I admired his work with my son and was moved by his composition. Then I analyzed with my son why I was moved.I told him that many ordinary events in life we don't know when we go through them, but when you write them in a unique narrative, they become moving. This is called "design".Good essays are naturally designed.
This kind of design, on the one hand is to let oneself feel“Good”, from this angle, since is for own, is conforms to own esthetic taste, then should be free. However, the problem is that many articles in the secular world are written in the hope that others will admit“Good”. In this case, the designer may have to mobilize his or her own understanding of the supposed aesthetic level of the reader, and then plan the structure and content of the work accordingly, designers may become less free.
This so-called“Design sense” is particularly important to our primary school teachers. According to Bruner's theory of knowledge constructivism, any knowledge can be imparted to students at any level in a suitable form. Knowledge is a structure, and we need to match that structure with content appropriate for children. The question is, what is the appropriate content to match? How? So, there has to be design. If a primary school teacher according to their own understanding of knowledge, “Freedom” to speak, there must be some children can not accept, the design of the classroom, can maximize the child to receive knowledge.
Regarding design, a Japanese management scholar named Riganti once wrote a book called "Design Power Innovation", which explains design more broadly, combining design with meaning, especially considering the meaning of consumers. That is, design is not only reflecting the designer's own cultural connotation, but also taking into account the needs of the recipient. We can be free for ourselves, but if we want to live with others, we may need reason, that is, to "surrender" a part of our freedom.
We may not be as good as Frankl in thinking about human nature, but it does make a lot of sense to look at it from an identity perspective. Man is the spirit of all things in the world. The difference between man and all things is that man can make decisions for himself and do whatever he wants, except for his physical, psychological and even social needs. Recently, another well-known teacher whom I admire is going to resign from the system. This is to make decisions for oneself, to fight for one's own freedom. Reading his farewell, i could feel his peace of mind and a real enjoyment of being alive. His way, let me admire.
But Can it be said that this is a real freedom? From his farewell, I could read that he had thought it over carefully. Since it is carefully considered, there will be a“Rational reasoning” process, that is, he should make the latter half of the career planning, or design. In this way, this freedom, in fact, a kind of“Break free” after the happiness, as for the future of how to go, or to fall into the“Not free planning” to go.
However, in this way, is Frankl's words not reasonable? Of course it makes sense.Man is ultimately free, but man must reach another realm, that is, a thorough understanding of life and life. For example, as a teacher, if he has a thorough understanding of educational life, thinks positively about education, acquires educational knowledge, and is good at dealing with the relationship between education and society and self, then he must have the freedom to choose any attitude and behavior in any environment, because no matter how freely he chooses, he will have some kind of "conscience".At this time, his attitude and behavior seem casual, but there must be an invisible "design".Writing requires a sense of design at the beginning, but when it is well written, it seems that it can be written under the pen, because the reader's thinking and the use of writing skills have been naturally integrated into the article.Life is like writing. The free use of reason in life is true freedom.Frankl, as a psychologist, himself said, "The first responsibility of man is conscience."Man is free, responsibility is heavier than freedom" and so on.
