On February 7, 1914, Yuan Shikai promulgated the "National Currency Regulations" and the "Implementation Rules of the National Currency Regulations" in the form of a grand presidential decree, stipulating that there were four types of national currency (one yuan, middle circle, two corners, one corner), one nickel coin (five points), and five copper coins (two points, one cent, five cents, two cents, and one cent). The national currency is mainly a one-yuan silver coin, with a total weight of seven coins and two cents (26.86 grams) of Kuping, including six pieces of sterling silver, four cents and eight cents (23.9024808 grams), and minted with silver nine and copper one (later changed to silver 89, copper 11).On the front, the side head of Yuan Shikai and the issued era number are engraved, and the back is cast with Jiahe ornaments and coin values. The "National Currency Regulations" were promulgated in the same year, first minted "Yuan Datou" one-yuan silver coins in the Tianjin Mint, and then minted them in Nanjing, Guangdong, Wuchang and other mints.Due to the uniform type of Yuan Datou one-yuan silver coin, the color and weight of the coin have strict regulations, it was quickly recognized and accepted by the society, and gradually replaced the Longyang of the Qing Dynasty in the domestic financial market and became the main currency in the circulation field.

Collection value

Since "Yuan Datou" withdrew from the currency market, it has always become the object of choice for silver dollar collectors, especially beginner enthusiasts; Due to the large amount of existence, its market price has been relatively stable. It is a low-price potential variety in old silver coins.
